Client Properties

The (Client) Properties command allows you to change the Client name or the Databases are saved in directory for the current client.

Changing the Client name will rename this client for other users too (though their list of previously opened clients will not be updated for the name change until they actually open this client). The path specified as the Saved in directory identifies where the four library files (which carry this client’s parameter settings) are stored and may not be changed.

The Databases are saved in directory is the directory where ProVal will look for, and store, database files and import / export files. Using a separate directory from the Saved in directory is a matter of personal preference; there is no inherent advantage to doing so.

The Notes can contain any information pertaining to the current client that may be helpful to other users (for example, unusual ProVal features used in setting up the client, etc.). Although the contents of Notes cannot be viewed or printed directly within ProVal, the contents can be copied and pasted into a file (e.g., a Microsoft Word document) where those utilities are available.
