Delete Fields

The Delete Fields command deletes, or erases, fields in the current database. The dialog box displayed by this command allows you to select the fields you want to erase.

Fields to erase lists all of the fields in the current database. Select any number of fields to be erased. Fields cannot be erased if they have been referenced somewhere else in ProVal (Record Layouts, Census Specifications, Valuations, etc.).

Click the Erase Fields button to erase the selected fields from the current database.

Warning! Be careful when erasing fields; there is no way to recover a field once it has been erased.

The Erase Fields command may create large amounts of unused space in the database file. This space can be eliminated by running the File | Pack Files command after erasing fields.
