File Menu

The commands on the File Menu let you save, open, print and close the current graph, create a new graph, or save or import a graph template.

Clicking New… leads to the New Graph dialog box, in which you specify the number of rows and columns in the new graph, label the rows and columns, and either import data or type data into the spreadsheet appearing in the box. Column labels (the Legend) will appear along the x-axis; the Series Legend will contain the row labels. Push the Setup… button to reverse the mapping of the row and column labels or to select a floating bar chart. To see your graph, push the Graph button

Open… opens a graph (including the data) that has been saved to disk. For details, see How to Open a Graph.

Close lets you close the graph, but retains the graph window. You may then open another graph or create a new one.

Save or Save As… allows you to save a graph (including the data) to disk. For details, see How to Save a Graph.

Save Template As… saves a graph template to disk. A graph template stores Graph (or Chart) Properties (e.g., Stacked Style, Color Scheme, 3D View) without the graphed data, so that you can apply the same properties to all of your graphs. For details, see How to Save a Graph Template.

Import Template… applies a saved graph template to the data in the current graph. A graph template stores Graph (or Chart) Properties (e.g., Stacked Style, Color Scheme, 3D View) without the graphed data, so that you can apply the same properties to all of your graphs. For details, see How to Import a Graph Template.

Page Setup… lets you set the page margins for printing. It also lets you specify whether the series legend is printed with the graph or on a separate page.

Print… lets you print the graph.

Exit closes all open graphs and the graph window.
