The Open Database command allows you to select an existing database to be the current (i.e., currently open) database.

Click the name of a Database from the list of all databases contained in the folder specified by the Databases are saved in parameter of the Properties command of the File menu. When you select the database, for the Open with style parameter, ProVal selects the Style this database was last opened with, or selects “<all fields and records>” if the database is new or was not previously opened with a saved style. Clicking the Properties button will display information about the current database file, on three tabs. See Database Properties for discussion of the parameters found under these tabs, including information displayed under the General tab.
