PPF Benefit Caps

This topic pertains to the “PPF” law selection and allows you to specify the applicable “compensation caps” for purposes of calculating the Pension Protection Fund (PPF) liability.

Enter the PPF benefit caps in the grid, which has a cell for each age in the range of Ages entered below the grid. The Look up button allows you to paste in published historical PPF benefit caps. The caps can also be entered manually, as is necessary, for example, if ProVal’s historical values have not yet been updated to the latest published PPF caps. Note that if no Cap at age value is available for lookup at a particular age in the “Look up PPF benefit caps” dialog box, ProVal will adjust the range of ages when it pastes into the grid and will also adjust the age(s) entered in the text field(s) for the starting and ending ages (for example, there is no value for lookup at age 85 for caps with a Start Date of 1 April 2008 and an End Date of 31 December 2008).

See Pension Protection Fund Liability (Section 179) for details on how the PPF caps are applied.
