Beneficiary Data
This portion of the Census Specifications identifies the database fields that contain fundamental information for beneficiaries.
Note that only those database fields in the Data Dictionary that are unhidden in the current Project appear in the drop-down list for selection of the parameters described below.
Date of Birth selects the field from the used to denote the beneficiary’s date of birth.
Sex specifies the coded field from the Data Dictionary that contains the beneficiary's sex. Male Code selects the code associated with the Sex field that indicates that the beneficiary is male. Female Code selects the code associated with the Sex field that the beneficiary is female.
Beneficiary Type selects the coded field from the Data Dictionary that indicates the type of beneficiary. After you have selected the beneficiary type field, a spreadsheet will be created that contains the labels from the coded field. Click the row next to each label and change the ProAdmin Beneficiary Type to "None", "Spouse" or "Non-spouse".
This choice impacts which death benefits may be payable upon the death of the member, and whether or not the member is eligible for certain payment forms.
- "None" indicates that there is not a beneficiary for this member.
- "Spouse" indicates that the beneficiary is the spouse of the member.
- "Non-spouse" indicates that the beneficiary is not the spouse of the member.
