Client Merge

The Client Merge command lets you merge all elements from Client B into Client A. Unlike the Import from Client command, Client Merge copies over all entries within a given library. Client Merge always "appends" objects (copies without replacing anything, renaming as necessary to avoid change collisions) unless the objects exist in both clients with the same ID#, date last modified, and creation date. Such truly identical objects are simply not copied.

Client Merge has two primary uses.

Concurrent multi-user access. Suppose John and Mary are both working on client X. John is setting up an early retirement window project; Mary is revising the plan definitions for. John and Mary can work on separate copies of client X and then use Client Merge to put their work together.

Building a new client. Suppose you have a new cash balance client that is similar to one that you have already completed. After you create the new client you can use the client merge command to copy over all of the libraries and then make the changes to the new client.
