Fulfillment Components

Fulfillment Components presents the facility to compute components, specifically Benefit Formula Components and Accrual Basis Components, which are needed for Output Definitions but would otherwise not be computed. The reason for which components are not computed is that they are not used or referenced in Benefit Formulas or their subordinate components that are used to complete the calculation. This facility eliminates the need to reference components needed for Output Definitions, often by using temporary assignment, that are not explicitly cited in the Benefit Definitions or their subordinate components that are computed.

The dialog box for Fulfillment Components shows the following text:

The components specified below are generally not referenced in the benefit formulas but need to be available for the Output Definition (e.g., vested percentage).

This is to say: Any components referenced in Benefit Formulas, which get computed, do not need to be included within this Fulfillment Component module. Components that are not referenced in Benefit Formulas but are needed in the Output Definition should be selected for computation here.

After the text, Benefit Formula Component and Accrual Basis Component boxes are displayed. Any items listed in the boxes will be additionally computed. To add items to the box, click on the Add/Omit… button where you will be presented with the list of all Benefit Formula Components or all the Accrual Basis Components that are defined and unhidden. Click on the check boxes to indicate which components are to be computed. Click the OK button to save your selection or Cancel button to disregard any changes.
