New Client
This command allows you create a new ProAdmin client. Selecting this option will create the four files that a ProAdmin client is comprised of; the four files are provaldd.sf, pvvip.sf, pvasmp.sf, and pvout.sf.
Client name: there are no limits on the length of the input field and may include spaces.
Save in directory: is the file path on your computer’s disk or network where ProAdmin will store this client, for example, c:\proadmin\abcdemo. Since the file names for every client are identical (provaldd.sf, pvvip.sf, pvasmp, and pvout.sf), different clients must be saved in separate directories. If you specify a directory that does not currently exist, ProAdmin will create it. Clicking the Browse… button allows you to select the path directly.
Initial project: names a subset of the client file to begin working in, for example, “plan restated 1/1/2000” or “early retirement window 1/1/2000”. All parameters and results that you create will be associated with this project until you switch to another project. If you wish, you can delete the project name and begin working in the “universe” project.
The Notes: can contain any information pertaining to the current client that may be helpful to other users (for example, unusual ProAdmin features used in setting up the client, etc.). Although the contents of Notes cannot be viewed or printed directly within ProAdmin, the contents can be copied and pasted into a file (e.g., a Microsoft Word document) where those utilities are available.
