Selection Expressions

The Selection Expression command allows you to save Selection Expressions, which are logical expressions used to select a subset of the records in a database. Saving a Selection Expression in the library avoids the need to retype the expression for each ProVal command for which you wish to select the same records; instead the Selection Expression may be retrieved conveniently. Many ProVal commands, both on the Database Menu and other menus, allow you to retrieve a selection expression previously saved under the Selection Expressions command. To edit a selection expression, click the Edit button to access the Selection Expression dialog box, where you can create new expressions or modify existing ones.

The parameters in the Selection Expression dialog box are:

Name may be any descriptive phrase, including spaces, under which to save this entry.
