Canadian Maximum Pension

This topic contains the service parameters needed to determine the benefit accrual service used to determine the maximum pension payable.

Typically, the service for benefit accruals is specified as a database Field that refers to either current service or a service start date. Select the desired field from among the numeric and date fields unhidden in the current Project. Alternatively, if you need fractional service accruals (e.g., hours-related service) or rounding (e.g., completed years), select a Service Definition from the library of Service Definitions included in the current Project. The image/backdoor_button.gif button accesses the library to create and modify Service Definitions.

Note that a Canadian maximum pension custom operator is the only type of custom operator that is permitted to be referenced directly in the formula of a Benefit Definition.  In all other cases, custom operators may only be referenced in the accrual basis topic of an accrual definition.

For additional information regarding the calculation of the maximum pension calculations, see ITA Maximum Pension.

Syntax:

(Service Indicator) #CANMAX Age

Age is the deferral age, or 0 if immediate.

Age must be an integer.

The Service Indicator for a custom operator may either be blank or 0.  The pre and post reform service split option in the #CANMAX standard operator are not available in custom operators.
