Schedule of active participant data
The Schedule of Active Participant Data parameter values are set under the Active Data topic of the Census Specifications. This topic includes the following inputs:
A field or Service Definition to specify credited service for purposes of the schedule.
In modes other than U.S. qualified pension, a check box to specify whether average salary should be included.
In the U.S. qualified pension mode, a check box to specify whether an average should be included and, if so, whether the amount averaged should be valuation salary or accrued benefit.
In the U.S. qualified mode, a check box to specify whether average cash balance account information should be included.
The following methodologies are employed:
In the U.S. qualified and U.S. public pension modes, if average salary is included, it is limited to the Internal Revenue Code 401(a)(17) limit.
Exact age is based on the date of birth field specified under the Active Data topic of the Census Specifications.
Exact service is based on the credited service field or Service Definition specified for the schedule. If the default, <date of hire>, is selected and a hire age is specified instead of a date, exact service is calculated as exact age on the Valuation Date minus exact hire age.
The following criteria are applied to create age and service groups. Based on the criteria, the age groups could be interpreted as referring to “attained age” or “age last birthday” (e.g., “30 to 34” contains records with attained ages 30 to 34). Similarly, the service groups could be interpreted as referring to “completed years of service”.
