License Server
The License Server command designates this computer as the ProVal License Server (PVLS). Once the PVLS is successfully running, it actively manages licenses for individual users connected to the same network. The License Server allows ProVal to be run without having keys attached to individual users’ computers. This saves users from the hassle of moving keys around when there are more users than keys.
Note that the License Server doesn’t preclude the use of single-user keys — ProVal automatically uses a single-user key if one is attached, and it searches for a License Server if a local key is not found. Single-user keys are convenient for laptop computers, which may be used to run ProVal while disconnected from the network.
See the ProVal Installation Guide (README.DOC in the ProVal directory) for more information.
