View Error Log
The View Error Log command allows you to display all errors logged in the current database. The log indicates the key id of each record and the data item(s) involved in the error and includes information about the error that was found.
You can view the error log by opening a database and clicking Screen > View Error Log. You can also view a subset of the error log for selected records by 1. selecting the records in Spreadsheet Edit, e.g., with the mouse and 2. clicking Screen > View Error Log > Errors for Selected Records.
Errors are identified through the Import Data, Find Duplicates, and Screen Data commands. When any of these processes identifies errors, you are given the option to save them to the Error Log that is associated with the database. You will also have the option at that time to merge the error messages with those already in the log or to replace the prior log contents with the new errors.
When you View the Error Log, you have several additional options:
Errors that have been logged can also be reviewed in Spreadsheet Edit. For more information on using Spreadsheet Edit with errors, see Find data errors, View data errors, Approve data errors, and Correct data errors.
