#DEFERRALS
In a Match type Contribution Definition, returns the total of the actual employee deferrals (as specified in the DC Allocation Inputs topic) that are applicable to the match, limited by 402(g) Deferral Limit and 414(v) Catch-up Limit if applicable. Returns zero in a Non-elective contribution.
Syntax:
#DEFERRALS
Examples:
For a record with Pre-tax deferrals of 18,000, Roth deferrals of 3,000, and Catch-up deferrals of 7,000 in a plan year beginning 1/1/2021:
#DEFERRALS equals 26,000
This is calculated as:
[(18000 + 3000) #MIN 19500] + (7000 #MIN 6500) = 26000
This operator is useful for calculating a match, when only the permitted limited deferrals can be considered for the match.
