Erase results
QUESTION: How can I erase results of completed runs, leaving the parameters of the runs intact?
ANSWER:
Select one or more runs from within one of these libraries: Valuations, Valuation Sets, Core Projection, Deterministic Forecast, Stochastic Forecast, Gain / Loss Analysis, Experience Studies and Efficient Frontier.
Right-click and choose Erase Results.
Click Yes to confirm.
Note that the confirmation message identifies not only the run you've selected (e.g., a Valuation), but also each dependent run (e.g., one or more Valuation Sets), because those results will also be erased. If you do not want to erase the results of a dependent run, then say No to the confirmation message.
USE: Erasing results can be useful for:
Preparing jobs to be re-run even though the inputs have not been changed. This would be the situation, for example, if you have copied in a revised database from another client folder or have installed a new version of ProVal that revises a calculation pertinent to your case. (In the latter situation, in particular, you may wish to, first, make a copy of the executed run, for comparison of its results with those of the “re-run” in the new ProVal version.)
Saving space in clients with a lot of Valuations or Core Projections, especially those with subtotals. To recapture the space, you’ll also have to use the Pack Files command on the File menu to compress out unused space.
