Rounded eligibility service

QUESTION: ProVal determines eligibility using exact age and service. For example, if eligibility is age 65, a person age 64.88 would not be eligible whereas a person age 65.21 would be. How can I use rounded age and/or service for eligibility?

ANSWER:

  1. Reflect exact age/service in your eligibility requirements. For instance, use age 64.5 for eligibility instead of age 65. Thus a person age 64.42 would not be eligible, but a person 65.50 would be.

  2. Alternatively, calculate rounded attained age in a database field, then use that field for attained age in your Census Specification.
