Standard tables

QUESTION: Does ProVal have a standard library of tables (i.e., mortality, termination, etc.)?

ANSWER: ProVal provides a library of standard mortality tables (see Decrement Tables for the list) and a library of standard mortality improvement scales (see Mortality Improvement Scales for the list).  Adding new tables, to these libraries or to libraries that do not contain standard (i.e., "built in") tables (e.g., termination rates), is extremely easy.

For network installations, we recommend maintaining a Master Client that can be used to store standard library entries such as mortality tables, termination tables, etc. By using the Client to Client Copy command, networked users can copy items from the Master Client for use in their work.

For stand-alone versions (or to update the Master Client), tables can either be imported from ASCII files or entered manually. To import, simply create a new table and use the Import Table option (Options button of the spreadsheet interface). NOTE: your ASCII file should contain columns of values as they would appear in ProVal. Be sure that your ASCII file contains values only -- no indices such as age or service.
