The commands on the Format Menu let you edit fonts for titles, axis labels, legends or numerical values (if shown on the graph) of data. You may also float or fix a legend or change its location on the graph.

Fonts lets you change the font type, size, bold setting, etc. of text shown in the graph. You can change font settings for the following texts by clicking on the option name below and completing the parameters in the Fonts dialog box that then appears:

Left Title (title, if any, appearing to the left of the graph)

Right Title (title, if any, appearing to the right of the graph)

Top Title (title, if any, appearing at the top of the graph)

Bottom Title (title, if any, appearing on the bottom of the graph)

X axis Labels (or Legend)

Y axis Labels

Legends (both Legend and Series Legend)

Values (if graphed data values are also shown on the graph as numbers)

 

Legend lets you float or fix the Legend (i.e., the x-axis labels) or change its location on the graph. Clicking Legend displays:

Left (Click to put the legend to the left of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Right (Click to put the legend to the right of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Top (Click to put the legend at the top of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Bottom (Click to put the legend at the bottom of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Float (Click to “float” a fixed legend over the graph; you may then position it by dragging it with the left mouse button.)

Fixed (Click to fix a floating legend in its current position on the graph; you will no longer be able to drag it.)

Series Legend

lets you float or fix the Series Legend (i.e., the labels of the series of data) or change its location on the graph. Clicking Series Legend displays:

Left (Click to put the series legend to the left of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Right (Click to put the series legend to the right of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Top (Click to put the series legend at the top of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Bottom (Click to put the series legend at the bottom of the graph; it will then be “fixed” in this position.)

Float (Click to “float” a fixed series legend over the graph; you may then position it by dragging it with the left mouse button.)
