Application-Defined Errors/Warnings

ProAdmin is set up so any errors and/or warnings that it finds, such as that the participant was hired before he was 15 years old, can be written to the XML output document. Having access to this information in the XML document allows you to use the information at the end of an online calculation. This dialog present optional choices for storing the information regarding error and/or warnings that ProAdmin automatically generates:

Check the Write out application-defined errors/warnings box to designate the container and path in the XML output document where any ProAdmin-defined errors or warnings will be stored.  Checking this box makes the rest of the dialog box available.

The Specify an XML container: box contains the container and path in the Output XML where any application-defined errors or warnings will be stored. Click the button to select the XML path from those in the XML schema.  There are several optional output items that can be stored in the output XML location for application-defined errors and warnings.  At least one optional item must be selected for any information to be written to the XML file.

Check Errors/Warnings Flag to provide a flag that indicates whether the result is an error or a warning.  If checked, Tag: specifies the tag name that will contain the flag. Click the  button to select the tag from those in the application-defined errors/warnings XML container selected at the top of this dialog. Error Value: specifies the text descriptor that will be written to the tag when an internal ProAdmin error occurs.  Warning Value: specifies the text descriptor that will be written to the tag when an internal ProAdmin warning occurs.

Check Code (from the Message Definition) to include in the XML output the "Code for output (optional)" that was specified as part of the Message Definition referenced in the Errors/Warnings library entry.  If checked, Tag: specifies the tag name that will contain the code. Click the  button to select the tag from those in the application-defined errors/warnings XML container selected at the top of this dialog.

Check Message to include in the XML output the message from ProAdmin regarding the error or warning.  If checked, Tag: specifies the tag name that will contain the message. Click the  button to select the tag from those in the application-defined errors/warnings XML container selected at the top of this dialog.

Check Error Type Code to provide an identification in the XML output that this is an internal ProAdmin error or warning.  If checked, Tag: specifies the tag name that will contain the identification code, and Value: specifies the text description (e.g., "ProAdmin") for the error type. Click the  button to select the Tag from those in the application-defined errors/warnings XML container selected at the top of this dialog.

Check Write out the decrement date with each error/warnings to include the decrement date in the output XML when an internal ProAdmin error or warning occurs.  If checked, Tag: specifies the tag name that will contain the decrement date. Click the  button to select the tag from those in the application-defined errors/warnings XML container selected at the top of this dialog.
