Subformula

Subformula components are available as both Benefit Formula Components and Accrual Basis Components. This type of component allows you to create reusable elements within benefit formulas.

SubFormula is a free form expression box where you enter formulas simply by combining components and operators. There is no limit to the number of components that you can create and use, and you may name them whatever you wish. These components are linked together by ProAdmin operators, which range from simple addition to specialized date arithmetic. Pressing F1 when your cursor is in this box will display a list of useful information, including available components and operators. Refer to the components by simply typing their names. Subformula expressions may contain logical statements, which are evaluated as 1 if true and as 0 if false.

SubFormula value cannot decrease is a checkbox that indicates that the subformula value at any point in time will be never be less than the value at the prior point in time. This feature might be useful, for example, to ensure that a participant's accrued benefit does not decrease.
