Special expanded sets of calculation dates
ProAdmin uses an expanded sets of calculation dates for most cash balance components and also for service and salary calculations:
In the accrual basis formula for cash balance accrual definitions, if interest is credited more frequently than annually, the end of each crediting period is added to the set of calculation dates. This expanded set of calculation dates is only used to evaluate this accrual basis formula; the end of each crediting period is not added to the general set of calculation dates.
For salary and service calculations, the set of calculation dates is expanded to include these additional dates (they are not added to the general set of calculation dates):
End of each measurement period
End of every month (service only)
Every date on which a salary/hours/service/multiplier is reported for that salary or service definition (i.e., stop dates or effective dates)
Event dates (service)
Projection increase dates (salaries)
Final average salary (FAS) freeze or start dates (for salaries associated with the custom FAS operator)
Dates from Eligibility Definitions (service)
Effective dates for Salary or Service Definitions (in the Salary or Service Definition Set)
Salary dates (in the Service Definition Set used for salary allocation)
Dates in the transformation expressions, including actual dates and dates for any field used in the expression (i.e., date fields and the effective/stop dates of array fields)
The day before each added effective date
Note: any eligibility evaluated during a salary or service calculation (e.g., the Eligibility Definitions used to determine when salary or service starts/stops) is evaluated using the special salary/service expanded calculation dates. All other eligibilities use the regular calculation dates set.
