Member Data

This portion of the Census Specifications identifies the database fields that contain fundamental information for plan members.

Note that only those database fields in the Data Dictionary that are unhidden in the current Project appear in the drop-down list for selection of the parameters described below.

Date of Birth selects the field from the Data Dictionary that contains the member's date of birth.

Date of Hire selects the field from the Data Dictionary that contains the member's date of hire. This field is used for a variety of purposes including defining the first calculation date, the first data date and, generally, service-based table lookups. Salary and service calculations will ignore data with a stop date prior to the first data date, which is the day before the first calculation date, or, if the plan year is not the calendar year, the first day of the calendar year that includes the first calculation date.

Sex specifies the coded field from the Data Dictionary that contains the member's sex.  Male Code selects the code associated with the Sex field that indicates that the member is male.  Female Code selects the code associated with the Sex field that the member is female.

<Base Service Set> Definition sets the Service Definition Set that will be used as the default service calculation throughout ProAdmin.  This selection is assumed to be service from hire for the U.S. IRC section 415(b) maximum benefit limit calculation.

<Base Salary Set> Definition sets the Salary Definition Set that will be used as the default salary for the standard ProAdmin operators such as #FAS. If benefits are not salary based (e.g. hourly or flat dollar), you may specify <Not Applicable>. When <Not Applicable> is selected, the highest 3-year average under the U.S. IRC 415(b) limit and salary based custom operators (salary, final average salary, and PIA types) may not reference the <Base Salary Set>. Additionally, standard salary based operators, including #FAS, #SALARY, #PIA, may not be used when <Not Applicable> is selected for the <Base Salary Set>.
