Date/Age/Service
Date/Age/Service, available to all application types, allows you to write the results of a Service Definition Set or Eligibility Definition calculation to the output.
Description is a text field in which you enter a helpful descriptive name by which the entry will be known. This may be any phrase, including spaces. All characters are available. These are the names you will see in the Output Definition Results report.
Output Field Name is available only when using the Desktop (Access) Application Type. This name must be unique to this Output Definition and will the heading for the results in the Access database and the Output Definition Results report.
XML Output Field is available when using either the Server or Desktop (XML) Application Types, and indicates where in the XML the output should be mapped. The multi-choice field lists all entries from the XML Output Linkage associated with this Output Definition. A parenthetical statement displays below the field if the output will include the description as an attribute (because the referenced Tag includes a PADescription attribute). If you map a date to a numeric field, it will be returned as a number.
Type of output allows you to specify whether the result that will be mapped to the field should be a Date, an Age, or a Service amount.
There are two choices for the type of calculations that can be mapped back as a date/age/service amount: At decrement date or At First Eligibility. If you choseAt decrement date, choose a Service Definition Set from the Using Service Definition Set multi-choice field, and this service amount will be calculated as of the decrement date and mapped to the chosen field.
Choosing At first eligibility allows you to write dates, ages and services to the output based on the eligibility condition for a specific Benefit Definition or an Eligibility Definition:
For Benefit Definition selects a Benefit Definition from those currently defined for the plan. . The date, age or service at first eligibility will be determined based on the criteria in the Benefit Definition’s Eligibility Requirements. The multi-choice field lists all of the Benefit Definitions in the library, but the calculation will abort if the Output Definition references a Benefit Definition that is not part of the Plan Definition.
Choosing Eligibility Definition allows you to select an entry from the Eligibility Definition library to define the eligibility requirements, along with a companionService Definition Set from the Using Service Definition Set multi-choice field to define the service used to evaluate the Eligibility Definition. The date, age or service when the member first satisfies this eligibility criteria will be included in the output.
Use the Formatted as options to refine the value of an age or service amount. If the output item will be an Age, the formatting options are Decimal age using Service Rounding, Integral years and Integral months component of age. If the output item will be Service, the formatting options are Decimal service using Service Rounding, Integral years and Integral months component of service. If Decimal age or service using Service Rounding is chosen, you must select an entry from the Service Rounding library that defines the desired rounding.
In the case of multiple output values, return the is a multi-choice field that allows you to specify what should happen if more than one value is selected for the same XML output field. Choose to sum, take the largest value, or take the smallest value. This option is not available if the Application Type is Desktop (Access). Note that you must select the same action (sum, largest or smallest) for all values being written to the same XML output field.
